Samsung announced its flagship smartphone Galaxy S6 in last Feb. during MWC. At a glance, it was somewhat different with its predecessors, especially design wise. Samsung adopted metal case, non-replaceable battery and edge display(bendable LCD). Journals released positive reviews right after the announcement. 3 months has passed since the launch of Galaxy S6/S6 Edge. Many people are wondering sales performance of Galaxy S6. However, we can not get any accurate numbers of Galaxy S6 series but just estimation.
We all know Samsung got in trouble last year due to too much Galaxy S5 inventory. To achieve sales target number, each overseas subsidiaries supplied Galaxy S5 to its channel partners more than demand. Eventually, too much inventory was led to price drop. Price drop just several months after the launch caused trend of distrust of Samsung flagship smartphone price.
For now, Samsung has not released any official sales number of Galaxy S6/S6 Edge. However, one thing is very clear. Samsung can’t beat Apple with current Galaxy S series. I think the war of iphone Vs. Galaxy S was over. Even though Samsung is doing its best to develop attractive hardware, when it’s turned on it is just one of Android phone. From the beginning, the result of competition between platform leader(Apple) and just platform participant(Samsung) was predestined.
I agree Galaxy S6 Edge is beautiful….but I still don’t know what I can do with that beautiful edge display.
